How to: Butterbeer Recipe

I don't know what it is about the fall, but it always gets me more in the mood to read/watch Harry Potter (okay, I'm always in the mood for Harry Potter). My husband looked over at me last night, and said, "babe, I think it's time to re-watch all of them since it's October and getting close to Halloween." I wish he had recorded my face because I'm pretty sure it lit up like a kid on Christmas.

I've been wanting to try my hand at putting together a Butterbeer cocktail, ya know just for fun. But also, I'm thinking about making for a Halloween party coming up. So if you're a Harry Potter fan like I am, and have been interested in trying to make a yummy treat for your Halloween party or just for a Friday night, then this is the post for you. It took me maybe 5 minutes to make this drink, and it's so yummy. 

If you wanted to put all of the ingredients together in a crock-pot and serve it in a big batch for a party, I think that would work just fine. Just serve the whipped cream separately.

Also you can serve this as an adult drink by adding spiced rum, which I think adds to the quote from the book "it seemed to heat every bit of him from the inside." But either way it's delicious.

Also P.S. I should mention that though we used our very pretty West Elm copper mugs for this blog post, I wouldn't recommend them for hot drinks since there isn't insulation--they get HOT!
